“นักกายภาพบำบัด เป็นนักวิเคราะห์ สืบสวน ค้นหาต้นตอ สาเหตุของปัญหา เพื่อสามารถเลือกใช้เทคนิคที่เหมาะสมในการรักษาคนไข้ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ”

                มีความตั้งใจ ตั้งแต่ตอนที่สอบเข้ามหาวิทยาลัยแล้วว่า  ต้องทำงานด้านการแพทย์และสุขภาพ เมื่อเรียนจบกายภาพบำบัดแล้ว ก็มีโอกาสได้เรียนรู้เทคนิกการรักษาคนไข้เพิ่มเติมจากรุ่นพี่ที่มีประสบการณ์ ทำให้ยิ่งมองเห็นคุณค่าของงานกายภาพบำบัด และจุดเปลี่ยนของการเป็นนักกายภาพบำบัดที่สำคัญที่สุด  ก็คือ การตัดสินใจลาออกจากตำแหน่งอาจารย์ ภาควิชากายภาพบำบัด มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น และไปทำงานเป็นนักกายภาพบำบัดที่สหรัฐอเมริกา ซึ่งเป็นขุมทรัพย์ทางวิชาการจากทั่วโลก และการได้มีโอกาสเรียนรู้เทคนิคการวิเคราะห์หาปัญหา เทคนิคการรักษาที่หลากหลาย ทั้งด้านการรักษา การป้องกัน การฟื้นฟู การผสมผสานเทคนิค วิทยาการที่หลากหลาย เพื่อช่วยแก้ไขปัญหาการเคลื่อนไหวของคนไข้ ทำให้ยิ่งเห็นประโยชน์ของวิชาชีพกายภาพบำบัดมากยิ่งขึ้น ว่าเป็นวิชาชีพที่ช่วยเพิ่มคุณภาพชีวิตให้ดีขึ้น ทั้งแก่ตัวเราเอง คนในครอบครัว และคนไข้ที่เราได้มีโอกาสช่วยเหลือ

                หลังจากที่ย้ายกลับมาอยู่ที่ประเทศไทย ก็อยากนำงานกายภาพบำบัดในรูปแบบที่ทำในสหรัฐอเมริกา มาให้บริการ และต้องการเผยแพร่ให้ประชาชนทั่วไปทราบถึงคุณค่าของงานกายภาพบำบัด และมีความตั้งใจที่จะถ่ายทอดความรู้และประสบการณ์ให้กับนักกายภาพบำบัดรุ่นหลัง เพื่อช่วยพัฒนาวิชาชีพกายภาพบำบัดในประเทศไทย ด้วยการเป็นวิทยากร ในการสัมมนา ให้สมาคมกายภาพบำบัด และ มหาวิทยาลัยหลายแห่ง

สุรัตน์ ธนานุภาพไพศาล มีประสบการณ์ในการรักษาผู้ป่วยกระดูกสันหลังคด ผู้ป่วยทางออโธปิดิกส์ ผู้ที่มีอาการปวดหลัง ปวดคอ และปวดข้อ ผู้ที่บาดเจ็บจากการเล่นกีฬา ผู้ที่บาดเจ็บจากการเล่นกอล์ฟ และ นอกเหนือจากงานด้านการรักษาแล้ว ยังมีงานสอนนักกายภาพบำบัดในประเทศไทยปีละหลายครั้ง เพื่อช่วยพัฒนาความรู้ และความสามารถของนักกายภาพบำบัด
